Offered for sale is an exceptionally rare and historically significant Inland Division M1 Carbine that was personally owned and autographed by David Marshall “Carbine” Williams, one of the most influential firearms designers in American history. Williams is best known for developing the short-stroke gas piston system that became a defining feature of the U.S. M1 Carbine and inspired the classic 1952 MGM film Carbine Williams, starring James Stewart.

This remarkable piece is far more than a collectible firearm—it’s a museum-worthy historical artifact with outstanding provenance. The rifle bears Williams’ signature on the stock and is accompanied by a Letter of Authentication from Ross E. Beard, Jr. of the Camden Archives and Museum, verifying the authenticity of the signature. The rifle is an Inland Division M1 Carbine chambered in .30 Carbine with an 18-inch barrel and includes a 20-round magazine.
